Crypto.com: proving you own your self-custody wallet

Crypto.com asks for beneficiary or originator details on external transfers and verifies non-custodial wallets with a one-time Satoshi test, which must be done within 90 minutes.

Never share your seed phrase or private key. Crypto.com only needs a signature, a small test deposit or the details it asks for in its own app. Last checked 2026-10-27. Not legal advice.

When Crypto.com asks

Where: EU (Transfer of Funds Regulation), Singapore, US, and other jurisdictions

Threshold: EU: cumulative transactions to a non-custodial wallet over €1,000. Singapore: total monthly withdrawals to non-custodial wallets over S$20,000.

Step by step

Satoshi test (from a pending deposit)[1]

  1. On the Pending Deposits screen, select the deposit and submit the additional information.
  2. Make sure all requirements are met. On the "Verification required" screen, tap Continue.
  3. On the "Wallet Ownership Verification" screen, tap Satoshi Test.
  4. Select the network the test specifies.
  5. Paste your Crypto Wallet address and enter the deposit amount the test specifies.
  6. Send the test transfer and wait for on-chain confirmation. Your address is then verified.

Declaring a deposit's sender (EU)[2]

  1. In the Accounts tab, tap Submit Now on the pop-up about your crypto deposit.
  2. Tap Submit next to the deposit that needs information.
  3. Enter the sender's name, country and wallet type, then tap Submit.
  4. The deposit is credited to your Token Wallet.

Common errors and fixes

Test transfer did not go through: wallet uses a new address every time

Use a wallet with a fixed sending address, or change your wallet settings (for example coin control) to send from the specific address.[1]

Test amount is below my wallet's minimum

Crypto.com suggests using a different wallet that allows smaller transfers.[1]

Address doesn't match

Copy and paste the address exactly as shown. Never type it by hand.[1]

90-minute window expired

Start the process only when you are ready to send immediately. Restart it and send within the new window.[1]

Picked "Non-Custodial Wallet" by mistake

On the "Verification required" screen, tap "Refill additional information" to go back to the Travel Rule form.[1]

Withdrawal to a third party's private wallet refused

Crypto.com's Travel Rule FAQ says third-party deposits and withdrawals are not permitted. Withdraw to your own verified non-custodial wallet first, then send onward from there.[3]

FAQ
